The aim of this project is to build a platform that optimizes project assignment to project managers. The optimization model our software will use has been published in the paper: Decision Support Model for Project Manager Assignment. Prof. Peerasit Patanakul, Assistant Professor at the Howe School of Technology Management and primary author of the paper, has conducted extensive research and developed a theoretical model to optimize project assignment to project managers. Previous research has established that project manager assignments affect the performance of projects and eventually organization. Industry criteria for project assignments are based on project requirements and competencies of project managers. Prof. Patanakul finds that to be effective in project assignments, management should also consider project prioritization, recognition of limitations, and optimization model for project manager assignments. The objective of our senior design project is to develop software to implement his model of optimizing project assignment to project managers.
